Your new role

As our new Health & Safety Advisor, you will support the Heath, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Team at our offices across the UK, with a primary focus on Health and Safety.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Support the business to continue to strengthen its health and safety culture
  • Provide guidance and expertise to the business and project teams regarding H&S issues
  • Provide advice on a range of specialist areas; e.g. CDM  regulations, risk assessments for engineering design projects
  • Provide H&S input to bids and tenders
  • Plan, carry out and report on internal H&S audits on office facilities and projects 
  • Provide expertise in the identification, evaluation and control of safety, health, environmental, CDM and operational risks.
  • Review and maintain H&S procedures and guidance
  • Investigate incidents and near misses; establish root causes and implement corrective/preventive measures
  • Assist with external audits where necessary
  • Keep up to date with legislation and other requirements and maintain an up to date legal register
  • Evaluation of suppliers from a H&S perspective
  • Collation and production of KPI reporting for HSEQ systems
  • Provide guidance and expertise to the business regarding ISO45001

The HSEQ Team works across the whole of the UK business, and across all of our disciplines, ensuring that our HSEQ systems are implemented, monitored and continuously improved. This role is focused on H&S, and is ideal for someone with a few years experience looking for the next step in their career.

These include:

  • Experience as a Health and Safety Advisor
  • CDM knowledge in the context of a design consultancy is preferred
  • Internal audit experience essential (IRCA lead auditor certificate preferred)
  • Experience and understanding of implementing management systems to ISO45001
  • Available to travel across the UK (role involves frequent travel)
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent
  • NEBOSH National General/Construction certificates essential
  • Member of a relevant professional body, eg. IOSH
