Our client is based on the outskirts of Preston and is looking to recruit a Group Financial Accountant to join their business due to an internal promotion, the role will work closely with the leadership team in producing the full financial reporting pack.

The business is a large national business with multiple sites and has a strong export side with solid customer base including leading brands and large commercial projects.

As Group Financial Accountant your duties will include: -

  • Responsible of the full month end reporting pack and development of the commentary and overall presentation of pack to the Board.
  • Responsible for all the balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
  • Manage a small finance team, offering supportive leadership and mentoring to assist with individual development.
  • Identify areas of improvement with processes and controls and support the wider business with communication of changes.
  • Prepare the company payroll and all associated reconciliations and queries.
  • Monitor the variables from across the business that are externally influenced, developing tighter controls.
  • Monitor the cashflow forecasting and daily bank reconciliations.
  • Provide reporting around overhead cost management and expenditure controls.
  • Completion of all VAT and HMRC payments, as well as responsible for all tax calculations and completions
  • Main point of contact for the bank and external auditors.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process, working closely with the wider business to continue to achieve growth.

The role would suit a candidate who has some good technical reporting experience gained within practice and is now looking to move to industry, you will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA). The candidate will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills with internal/external parties including stakeholders and have a strong eye for detail within the accounts pack adding value where necessary.
