An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Derbyshire Constabulary’s Safeguarding Co-ordination Hub (SCH) as a SCH Supervisor on a full-time, permanent basis. The Safeguarding Co-ordination Hub is key in ensuring a consistent and enhanced service, involving processing and managing the level of risk posed by offenders to adults and children.

Please note, due to the nature of the role, being able to regularly travel throughout the county to represent the Force is essential and on occasions, you may be required to be flexible around working hours to meet operational requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing the referrals and information received by the organisation and ensuring it is dealt with professionally and expediently.
  • Providing specialised knowledge, support and guidance to officers, staff and other agencies to enable consistent, accurate and appropriate recording of referrals and the appropriate recording for investigation and/or safeguarding.
  • Participate in strategy discussions when required and share information on a multi-agency setting and make decisions based on this information shared, considering necessary actions of the police for progression of relevant safeguarding and the prevention and detection of crime.
  • Liaise with practitioners and heads of service to ensure the effectiveness of the unit to achieve the desired outcome.

The must haves

  • Experience of supervising individuals/teams and evidence of dealing with a range of issues including attendance management, performance management and welfare of staff.
  • Experience of working within a safeguarding environment, where critical decision making can be evidenced.
  • Experience of accurately checking, recording, and retrieving information from databases, and of making links between different data sets; with the ability to identify relevant and salient detail for use in critical decision making.

Salary – Grade H £31,755-£39,036

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
