Our clienta dynamic and forward-thinking building consultancy who are dedicated to leading the charge in decarbonisation efforts within the North West region are currently hiring for a Freelance Architectural Technician. Their focus lies in transforming local authority properties through innovative solutions such as heat pump installations, solar panels, and window replacements.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Freelance Architectural Technician to join our team and play a pivotal role in our decarbonisation projects. As an Architectural Technician, you will be responsible for producing detailed AutoCAD drawings for the implementation of decarbonisation initiatives, particularly focusing on heat pump installations, solar panels, and window replacements in local authority properties. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of PSDS (Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme) projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the project team to understand design requirements and objectives.
  • Produce accurate and detailed AutoCAD drawings for heat pump installations, solar panels, and window replacements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and standards.
  • Work closely with contractors and suppliers to coordinate project execution.
  • Provide technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative decarbonisation solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Architectural Technician, preferably within the field of decarbonisation or renewable energy projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
  • Strong understanding of building regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of PSDS schemes and public sector procurement processes is desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility to travel within the North West region as required.
