Rocket Science Group

Date: 2 weeks ago
City: Cardiff, Wales
Contract type: Full time
The Rocket Science Group is a co-development game studio specializing in multiplayer, platform services, publishing technology, and live operations for PC, console, and mobile titles. We have teams in Europe and North America and work in partnership with the game industry’s top creators.

About the Role:

We’re looking for an IT Specialist to join our hardworking team and help us scale our internal operations! In this role, you’ll draw upon your past experience to help us plan and roll out an IT strategy capable of supporting our growing organization across two continents. You’ll work alongside our larger Workplace Team to ensure that our engineers have the equipment and tools they need to develop some of the biggest games in the world.

You’ll also have the opportunity to not only work directly with our partners to meet the needs of individual projects, but also learn from other teams in the company as they create and maintain video game tools and platforms. And while we don’t require prior game company experience for this role, our ideal candidates will still possess a passion for gaming!

This is a hybrid role to be based in Cardiff, UK.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define the IT standards for a fast-growing company.
  • Support our teams’ desktop and laptop hardware and software.
  • Establish and maintain a secure distributed computing environment.
  • Run security audit processes with provided tooling.
  • Improve our single sign-on system.
  • Support software development tools.
  • Procurement of IT services and equipment.
  • Install and manage conference solutions.
  • Create self-service documentation.

What We Value:

  • Strong communicator who can translate the needs of technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to understand the needs of our teams’ evolving requirements.
  • Proven proficiency in supporting IT infrastructure.
  • Passion for solving hardware and software problems.
  • Experience in running and supporting office networks.
  • Openness to taking on new challenges and the flexibility to adapt to them.

You May Also Have:

  • History working with cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of automation and scripting languages.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
  • Experience managing online business collaboration tools.

You Should Remember:

To let us do the work for you: Even if your profile isn't an exact match for all of the qualifications listed above, we still want you to apply. Our team members come from a variety of different industries, not all of which are immediately relevant to game or software development, and we welcome all candidates of similarly varied backgrounds, communities, and identities.
