We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Leeds service. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work flexibly and creatively to establish what is needed to have the most positive impact for all who are referred to our service.

Leeds Integrated Offender Management team works with and supports individuals involved in the criminal justice system with a history of offending relating to Serious Acquisitive Crime and / or Domestic Abuse. The team works closely and is co located with Emerging Futures, the IOM police team and IOM probation staff in Leeds city centre. We work in partnership with a range of other key services across the city; treatment services, social care, housing, mental health, Liaison and Diversion, and employment, education and training services, to deliver a multi-agency approach supporting and risk managing individuals to exit the criminal justice system and improve their wellbeing.

Our experienced team offer a wide range of interventions for people who are referred into the IOM service; structured 121 and group interventions to support domestic abuse perpetrators and their families, structured 121 work and groupwork around behaviour change which includes supporting people to access and engage in specialist services, and brief interventions.

Under the direct and with support of the Service Manager the Team Leader will take on the responsibility of providing advice and guidance to the team, and provide supervision and support to IOM case managers. Furthermore, the post holder will be required to work closely with our IOM partners and Emerging Futures, proactively engaging at every opportunity to improve joint working and practice arrangements to improve outcomes for IOM service users.

Hours 37.5 per week

Salary £34,700.09 - £36,635.38 dependant on experience

About the role

  • Operational line management of a team of staff which includes supervision (with reflective practice), appraisal, performance and sickness management as well as ensuring staff follow CGL and external policies applicable to their roles.
  • Empowering staff to promote hope, empowerment, choices, control, and opportunities that assist service users reaching their full potential as individuals and community members.
  • Work with your team and Designated Safeguarding Lead (if not your role) to ensure that the practices within the team/service enable identification of service users, children and families who are at risk. Ensure that staff are competent in the delivery of interventions that reduce risk to service users.
  • Support staff to improve service user outcomes through observed practice, providing timely values-based feedback.
  • Lead on the recruitment, selection and induction of staff.


About you

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of developing and leading health and social care services and delivering services which evidence high performance and quality standards.
  • Significant experience of leading teams who work with families where children are subject to social care intervention.
  • Knowledge of current legislation surrounding children, young people, and safeguarding practice
  • Able to lead, inspire and develop a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to use common MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
