What will I be doing?
The specific type of work will vary contract to contract, the types of tasks we cover include:
- Measuring and Prepping
- 1st fix
- 2nd fix
- Repair and maintenance
- Although our work is predominantly domestic, you may also work on commercial sites depending on your unit’s contracts.
- Attend college to understand “the how and the why” of your chosen trade (usually 1 day a week)
- Build a fantastic portfolio of evidence to go towards your End Point Assessment
- Be a valued member of the team and contribute to the overall success
You don’t need to have had prior experience, all we ask for is;
- A genuine passion for Carpentry and hands-on practical work
- A positive attitude with a willingness to stick with it and problem solve
- Commitment to building your career at Ian Williams - we are as committed to you as you are to us
- Strong organisational skills (to successfully juggle college and work)
- GCSE (or equivalent) grade 3 (D) or above in Maths and English
- DT or construction based qualification would be beneficial but is not essential
