About the Role:

The role involves supporting the Supply chain department with advanced planning activities for Packaging Design, Planning and Implementation solutions, for all current and new vehicle programmes.

This includes working on design and commission prototypes and production packaging solutions, for component and sub assembly deliveries to the production line.

The ideal candidate will be required to work in tandem with multiple departments, to ensure that all planning & packaging is in line with business expectations, as well as meeting all regulatory and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Calculate internal / external costs, that contribute to the Total Acquisition Costs.
  • Feed in and support the supplier selection processes.
  • Assess the impact on packaging & process flow & capability.
  • Value Chain Mapping.
  • Business case development.
  • Scenario analysis.
  • Attend department, project, or management meetings.
  • Communicate with and manage Lotus packaging suppliers’ relationships.
  • Support and coordinate accordingly with internal stakeholders.
  • Packaging project tracking and deliver to targets.
  • Manage and resolve Packaging Quality queries.
  • Knowledge of SAP and comfortable with using different MI Systems.
  • Plan the implementation of packaging solutions, with minimal impact to the business.
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics for packaging deliverables.
  • Environmental assessments.
  • Lead and complete packaging projects, from concept to implementation.
  • Process design, work instructions & operational procedures.
  • Demonstrate a holistic approach and appreciation of business impacts.
  • Ownership and accountability for KPIs and projects assigned.
  • Manage and progress changes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Comfortable communicator at all levels.
  • Familiar with operations and driving operational improvement and excellence.
  • Track record of delivering or initiating change.
  • Able to demonstrate a good experience of value creation and value chain improvements.
  • Knowledge and application of lean principles.
  • Educated to a relevant degree level.
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office suite at an intermediate level.
  • Problem Solving.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting business essential deadlines.
  • Methodical approach to solutions.
  • Continuous improvement.
  • Time management.
  • Project management skills.
  • Full UK-EU or International driving licence.

Desirable:

  • ONC or above in Engineering / Supply Chain.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to use AutoCAD, Teamcenter and other 2D or 3D drawing packages.
  • Experience of Automotive supply chain or a manufacturing environment, or a demanding and fast-moving manufacturing/production environment.
  • Relevant Certifications and Professional Memberships.
  • Multilingual.
