The role

We’re looking for a dedicated and well-established Planner to join our collaborative team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in the successful delivery of our projects by focusing on daily scheduling and planning activities, as well as working closely with the commercial team to ensure the substantiation of any change is well documented and supporting evidence is provided. You’ll also work closely with a variety of stakeholders, contributing your expertise to a wide variety of schemes.

Who we are looking for:

  • Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Planner within the construction sector, specifically with a strong understanding of daily scheduling, programme development, and management. You will have the ability to produce a programme from first principles utilising the Works Information/Drawings and be able to maintain the programme through to completion. You will also have demonstrable experience and expertise with the Civils elements of the build process (Drainage, Kerbing, Technology & Lighting)
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Organisational & Planning Skills: Strong attention to detail, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and proactively identify and mitigate potential delays.
  • Programme Management Understanding: Familiarity with project programming principles, including the ability to contribute to the development, updating, and management of project programmes. You will also have the ability to demonstrate good knowledge on the Clause 60’s process within NEC contracts.
  • Planning Software Proficiency: Have demonstrable experience in utilising Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Role and Responsibilities:

What your role will include:

  • Programme Development: Developing and managing project programmes under the NEC form of contract from first principles (Pre-Construction through to Commissioning) on both P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Contractual Documentation: Drafting Clause 31 (Programme) and Clause 32 (People) submissions.
  • Programme Management: Regularly updating programmes and creating impacted programmes in response to Compensation Events (CEs) and other changes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaising with senior stakeholders, both internal and external, to provide updates on the strategic programme.
  • Progress Monitoring & Delay Mitigation: Monitoring the progress of works, identifying potential delays, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Change Control: Tracking and controlling all changes to the project delivery programme.
  • Relationship Building: Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key teams such as estimating, site, design, construction, clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Delivery Process Understanding: Possessing a strong understanding of the end-to-end project delivery process.
  • Change Impact Assessment: Identifying and assessing the impact of potential changes on project timelines and plans and communicating these changes effectively.
