About the role
This role needs STRONG writing skills alongside research skills to understand large data sets. Applicants who fail to demonstrate these skills in their application will be rejected.
We're looking for a Researcher/Writer to join our Product Testing team in our London Office.
Which? rigorously tests the products consumers want so that we can confidently point them to the right ones to buy, and the ones to avoid. This role plays a vital part in this, not only creating excellently written reviews, content and advice based on laboratory testing but also making sure the research underpinning them is high quality and well run.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing high quality, consumer focused content for publication, based on our testing, in online reviews, advice and other product related content as well as articles for our print magazine
- Getting to grips with data from our test laboratories about tested products and finding the stories and pulling out key information in this technical data
- Delivering high quality, accurate work over long, medium and short term timescales and meeting multiple hard deadlines
- Tracking and overseeing the research from other team members that feeds into your content, solving problems and making sure things runs smoothly, on time and to budget
- Developing subject expertise and knowledge, both to look at your product area content with a critical eye, improving, reviewing and updating it regularly, and also to support related work in other teams
About you:
Excellent writing skills and able to turn complex information into clear, accessible language that's enjoyable to read
Comfortable interpreting and working with large data sets, for example in Google and Excel spreadsheets
Strong workload management and prioritisation skills, enabling you to keep research running smoothly and to budget at the same time as producing content to tight deadlines
Knowledge and understanding of a range of research methods and techniques
The interview process for this role involves:-
- A pre-interview writing task (approx 300 words)
- An interview via TEAMS (approximately 90 minutes) consisting of experience-based competency questions with a research task
