The Opportunity:

We have an opportunity for a Paralegal to join our expanding Commercial Property team, which is based at our Norwich office. Working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, this new position offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with developers, buyers, and investors, and will be pivotal to ensuring that our clients experience a professional and efficient service.

About the Team:

Our vastly experienced commercial property team deals with all aspects of the commercial property sector including purchases and sales, and lease renewals for both landlords and tenants. Whatever the business size, the team provides effective solutions for all property requirements.

The team deals with a range of work from more straight forward property sales, purchases and refinancing, through to advising on planning obligations or the development of new commercial business parks. With extensive experience of all types of business occupiers and landlords, the team also draws on knowledge from across the firm to provide a comprehensive service.

The Role:

This role will see the successful candidate undertaking the following tasks:

  • Supporting the supervising solicitor with their case load including drafting and negotiating documents, reporting to clients and progressing files in general.
  • Liaising with clients, developers, and other stakeholders, and building strong rapport, to ensure a supportive and seamless transaction process.
  • Carrying out post exchange work for the supervising solicitor, such as preparing completion statements, SDLT returns, drafting replies to requisitions, carrying out registrations, and preparing telegraphic transfers.
  • Opening and closing of files, and conducting searches.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and financial requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation for each transaction.
  • Handling telephone calls, emails, and general correspondence, queries, and enquiries.
  • Contributing to a positive and supportive team dynamic.
  • Participating in business development opportunities and networking events to promote firm services.
  • Providing general Paralegal and Administrative support to the team as required.

The Candidate:

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has previous experience working as a Paralegal, with a fee earning target (at least 1 year).
  • Has previous experience working on commercial property purchase and sales matters.
  • Ideally holds relevant legal qualifications, or is currently working towards these.
  • Has a commitment to providing an excellent standard of client care.
  • Is commercially astute.
  • Has working knowledge of Conveyancing practice and procedures.
  • Is IT literate, an accurate typist (including dictations), and has experience using a case management system.
  • Has great time management, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Enjoys a busy environment, is adept at multitasking, and has the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Has a positive "can-do" attitude and loves learning new skills.
  • Is a team-player who can quickly build report and gain the trust of their team and clients, in this demanding area of legal work.
