Project Manager
Surrey and Sussex Police

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced project manager to join the Joint Surrey & Sussex Police Change Delivery team to manage the delivery of the Surrey Police Contact Transformation Programme. This is a review of numerous areas of the contact servicing model focusing on shift pattern models workforce mix and optimisation of different servicing channels and will involve the delivery to implementation of a range of business change and technology-enabled projects aimed to improve the service offered to the public and enhance future service provision. Working under direction of the Programme Manager, this role will play a key part in shaping the programme. This role sits within the wider Change Delivery team, who support local, bilateral and regional change activity to ensure that both forces can provide efficient and cost-effective policing services. Day-to-day duties and key responsibilities:
• Managing the tasks and schedule of the Contact Transformation programme and projects within, ensuring their successful delivery.
• Ensuring programme outcomes are understood and communicated, agreeing and monitoring key deliverables and milestones, establishing resource requirements, identifying and managing risks and reporting progress to stakeholders as required.
• Responsible for producing and delivering project management products and control documents in accordance with corporate standards, including regular reporting to the Project Board and the Portfolio Management Office.
• Manage the coordination and tracking of time, budget, and resources, and delegate tasks across the programme team.
• Manage the RAID log to identify, document and evaluate risks and issues associated with the delivery of the project, in accordance with the force risk & issue management methodology. ensuring an appropriate risk management strategy is in place, recommending appropriate risk responses and issue mitigation plans to the SRO/project board, and that these are escalated to the force level governance boards as appropriate.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate gets things done, takes ownership and enjoys working with a range of people and innovative technology. More specifically you will:
• Have knowledge of project management and business change best practice.
• Have experience in successfully delivering multiple project workstreams concurrently within a programme in a business improvement context.
• Have experience of end-to-end service delivery process flow design. Previous experience of Contact Centre environment, CRM, multi-channel contact technologies, automation and reporting would be advantageous.
• Understand how to maximise the benefits of technological innovation for operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Be a confident stakeholder manager and ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation both the ability to provide credible advice to SROs and senior project stakeholders and
• Work to your own initiative and respond flexibly to rapidly changing demands when under pressure.
• Have a strong attention to detail and well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, to produce clear and concise reports and presentations.
• Be a creative problem-solver, with strong commercial acumen, able to analyse and interpret data to devise and implement solutions that deliver value for money for police services.
