Position: Zero-Hour Event Support Assistant
Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester, UK
Wage: £12.25 per hour

Job Description

The purpose of the role is to support the Facilities Manager in the delivery of a variety of events from bookings to preparations and running the events ensuring the highest quality of service at all times with guests happiness a top priority. The role involves coordinating refreshments and catering ensuring the smooth and perfect running of their day.

Key Responsibilities:
On-the-Day Event Support:

  • Assist with room setup and breakdown (furniture moves, layout changes, signage etc.)
  • Help with refreshments and catering service, including setup, replenishment, and clear-down
  • Basic AV and tech support (connecting laptops, testing microphones, etc.)
  • Greet guests and provide general front-of-house support
  • Keep event spaces clean, organised, and ready for use

Behind-the-Scenes Support:

  • Assist with admin tasks such as filing, data entry, and calendar updates
  • Support with social media activity and event promotion
  • Help create marketing content, including photos, short videos, or blog-style writeups
  • Assist in preparing signage, event packs, or feedback forms
  • Take part in creative brainstorming and planning sessions

What Were Looking For:

  • A student or recent graduate in Event Management, Marketing, or a related field
  • A practical, proactive attitude and willingness to get involved in all kinds of tasks
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Great communication skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including some evenings and weekends
