Due to company growth we are looking for a Transport Compliance Manager to join our growing fleet department.

Location: Preston

Salary: £40,000

Responsibilities

  • Driver Tachograph Analysis – Support the Transport Manager with all tachograph analysis using Tacho Master
  • Weekly vehicle tachograph checks in-line with vehicle inspections
  • Analysis of tachograph records to ensure compliance with legislation, laws, and WTD rules
  • Daily Defects / Walk Around Checks – Ensure all checks are accounted for and completed, and that the FV or endorsed system is updated. Coordinate with the hire desk to ensure visibility of all assets (including external hire trailers) on Samsara.
  • Escalate non-reported daily defects to the Transport Manager.
  • Coordinate with the Workshop Manager and Head of Fleet to ensure defects are addressed. Job cards should be opened in Syrinx, referencing the FV defect.
  • Vehicle Inspections & MOTs – Support the TM by maintaining and reporting inspection, service, MOT, and taxation records to depots. Assist in scheduling pre-planned works.
  • Conduct regular checks on driver licenses to ensure compliance with legal and insurance requirements (points, disqualifications, etc.).
  • Distribute schedules for inspections, services, and MOTs to relevant managers.
  • Liaise with the Head of Fleet and Workshop Coordinator to ensure all work is booked and covered.
  • Send schedules to operations to avoid missed appointments.
  • Monitor and manage fuel usage across the fleet.
  • Identify and report on fuel efficiency trends and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with depot managers to ensure accurate fuel records and cost tracking.
  • Monitor, log, and manage all penalty charge notices (PCNs) and parking fines.
  • Liaise with drivers and relevant authorities to resolve issues.
  • Report trends and escalate repeated offences as necessary.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to produce detailed reports, analysis, and dashboards.
  • Produce and support in the compilation of board packs and other reports as required by the Head of Transport.
  • Manage daily operations of the transport office.
  • Provide administrative support to the Head of Transport
