Role Overview:

Job Title: Financial Crime SME

Location: London - Hybrid

Capgemini is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Financial Crime Subject Matter Expert – Design to join our Financial Crime team. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and enhancing systems, policies, and procedures to prevent and detect financial crime. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our frameworks are robust, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Assessment and Mitigation

  • Identify and assess financial crime risks, including money laundering, fraud, and terrorism financing.
  • Develop and refine risk-based monitoring strategies and detection scenarios.
  • Implement effective controls and procedures to mitigate identified risks.

Systems Design and Implementation

  • Design and implement financial crime prevention and detection systems (e.g., transaction monitoring, screening).
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
  • Evaluate and recommend enhancements to existing systems or new technology solutions.

Policy and Procedure Development

  • Develop and maintain financial crime policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Conduct gap analyses and implement improvements to address regulatory changes and emerging threats.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in financial crime risk management, preferably within a large financial institution or consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of AML/FinCrime systems such as Norkom, Actimize, or NetReveal.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., UK AML regulations, FATF standards).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with Compliance, Operations, IT, and other departments to embed financial crime controls into business processes.
  • Liaise with external regulators and auditors as required.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze data to identify trends and patterns related to financial crime.
  • Prepare and present reports on financial crime risks, controls, and compliance activities.

Training and Awareness

  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance staff awareness of financial crime risks and compliance obligations.
  • Promote a culture of compliance across the organization.
