Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Finance Director for Atkore’s UK Region to be based out of West Bromwich, UK. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance for Cable Management & Protection, this person will be responsible for planning, forecasting, analysis, management reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls and compliance for the UK region. In addition, the Finance Director partners closely with the Managing Director, Atkore UK providing support on matters relating to the performance, capital and other resource allocation decision analysis, and financial processes for the UK business.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for US GAAP and Local GAAP reporting (UK & Israel)
  • Ensuring SOX compliance and Internal audit controls are adhered to
  • Forecasting, Budgeting and STRAT planning
  • Local Tax & Treasury requirements (UK & Israel)
  • Full P&L and Balance sheet reporting – meeting monthly deadlines
  • Ad hoc analysis for GM and VP Finance
  • Managing all aspects of the finance function, treasury & tax
  • Point of contact for external / internal auditors
  • Involved in the strategic direction of the business (Key member of Leadership team) Growth and profitability
  • Reporting of European holding companies


What you’ll bring:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA ,ACMA)
  • Minimum 5 yrs post qualification experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • IT literate (ERP, Microsoft packages)
  • Ability to Manage a large team
  • Problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of USGAAP, SOX and Local GAAP


Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Complete your Atkore immersion program
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore’s strategy
  • Gain an understanding of the business and team you work with and support


Within 6-months, you’ll:

  • Ensure that appropriate accounting and Atkore financial practices are followed
  • Maintain general ledger and related general accounting processes
  • Manage the process and prepare the monthly forecast, including consolidation and analysis of inputs from the sales, manufacturing, and support functions.
  • Identify ways to strengthen the team’s commitment to Atkore’s core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.


Within 12-months, you’ll:

  • Lead and develop a team of employees and develop/or recruit financial personnel who can help achieve the objectives of the department and business, elevate professionalism, and provide continuity in leadership.
  • Provide sound financial analysis, financial planning tools and economic decision-making support to the Managing Director and their management team. Key areas of focus include revenue and gross margin, rebates, selling and administrative expenses, operating performance, working capital and other key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Manage the process and prepare the annual budget in a manner that drives and supports the strategic imperatives of the business and ensures alignment to the plan across all business functions.
  • Convert monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data into understandable summaries to drive recommendations and actions by the individual and leadership team.
  • Partner with sales, operations, and plant leaders to meet performance objectives, providing guidance and counsel while doing so.
  • Assist in preparation and review of Capital Equipment Request (CER) financial justifications for plant capital projects. Work with project manager to assure timely capitalization of equipment placed in use. Perform CER post audits to verify savings. Coordinates periodic fixed asset physical inventory per company policies.
  • Maintain ownership of documenting and ensuring internal compliance with control standards for the business unit. Develop relationships with internal and external audit partners and support the internal and external audit processes.
  • Lead and proactively drive business process changes to eliminate waste and improve accuracy.
