Ormiston Horizon Academy are seeking a full or part-time Site Assistant to provide caretaking and estate services to the academy during term time, including carrying out repairs and maintenance and ensuring site safety. The postholder will work term time only (39 weeks) but the position is available for full time (37 hours per week) or part time (30 hours per week)

Ormiston Horizon Academy are seeking a full or part-time Site Assistant to provide caretaking and estate services to the academy during term time, including carrying out repairs and maintenance and ensuring site safety. Duties And Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Responding in a timely manner to any premises related issues.
- Tracking and recording issues.
- Opening and closing the academy.
- Ensuring that any damage, health & safety issues or faults with the buildings are reported as a matter of urgency.
- Carrying out duties in adverse weather to ensure the site is safe for occupancy and operation.
- Responding to call outs from lettings providers or alarm activations.
- Carry out regular maintenance to drains, gutters and downspouts are kept free of blockages.
- Carry out general porterage duties including movement of deliveries, equipment and furniture.
- Undertake site compliance checks as directed by the Site Manager/Site Supervisor, which may include weekly fire alarm tests, fire extinguisher and fire door checks.
- Support planned and unplanned fire evacuations and site lockdowns.
- Support the management of health and safety in relation to the premises and undertake training as required.
- As part of the site maintenance team undertake repairs, maintenance which may include decorating, as directed by the Site Manager/Site Supervisor.
- Adhere to policies and procedures in relation to safeguarding at all times, and to adhere to the statutory guidance
- Take appropriate action if having any concerns, or are made aware of the concerns of others, regarding the safety or wellbeing of children or young people.
- Keeping Safeguarding knowledge up to date as directed by the academy safeguarding lead.
