Reporting and Systems Developer

Your purpose:
- To maintain and develop the College MIS and other key software systems
- To develop reports, gathering data/statistics from the MIS and other key systems in college.
- To write Microsoft T-SQL views/queries for use with College Management information systems
- To design and implement PowerBI dashboards.
- Provide Support to Staff
In your role, you will be accountable for:
1. Undertake allocated work with limited supervision and technical support.
2. Act as a team member and be fully committed to a team approach.
3. Delivery of operational systems or small new project developments.
4. Customer satisfaction with your work
5. Providing advice on best practices.
6. Participating in the development and implementation of the IT strategy, ensuring alignment to key business objectives and priorities of the College.
7. Building effective working relationships with staff at all levels and work collaboratively with a range of people to explore new ways of exploring the IT infrastructure to meet business needs.
8. Resolving complex problems with and advising on complex change requests to IT systems.
9. Recommending and promoting the application and continual development of technologies to improve service delivery.
10. Actively contributing to the IT Directorate operational planning, self-assessment and the measurement of Key Performance indicators to support the achievement of the College’s strategic objectives.
11. Assist with the monitoring of Service level agreements.
12. Any other dues commensurate with the level of the post that may be required from time to time.
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Qualifications/ Training:
Minimum of level 2 in literacy and numeracy - Essential
Level 5 qualification, or evidence of substantial professional practice at a similar level - Essential
Level 3 IT Qualification - Essential
Knowledge & Experience:
- Relevant experience in an Education setting. - Desirable
- Experience of working with databases - Essential
- Experience of producing and presenting data reports for a variety of audiences. - Essential
- Experience of working as part of a team
Technical & People Skills:
- VLE administration skills - Desirable
- PHP Programming skills - Desirable
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, SSRS Reporting, SQL Server - Essential
- Ability to analyse, summarise, evaluate and communicate complex data - Essential
- Ability to use initiative and be innovative in resolving issues - Essential
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills - Essential
- Evidence of working collaboratively with others to improve practice. - Essential
- Evidence of successful development and maintenance of working relationships - Essential
