Senior Project Planner

Role summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Planner to support the planning and delivery of critical projects within the nuclear industry. This is a key role in driving schedule performance, risk management, and project controls in a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will be working on high-profile nuclear programmes and must have a deep understanding of the planning lifecycle across complex engineering or infrastructure projects.
This role is for a 6 month contract position.
What you will be doing:
- Develop, maintain, and optimise detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, aligned with scope, cost, and resource plans.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure schedule integrity, milestone tracking, and progress reporting.
- Conduct schedule risk analysis and support the development of mitigation and recovery plans.
- Integrate planning with cost control, change management, and earned value reporting processes.
- Provide planning insights and data to support governance reviews, performance reporting, and decision-making.
Formal qualifications or training:
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Planner within the nuclear or highly regulated industries (e.g. defence, oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure).
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and associated planning and reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of project controls, risk management, and earned value analysis (EVA).
- Experience working within NEC or similar contract frameworks.
