Our Student Services Department is expanding and we are excited to announce that we are looking for an additional team member to join as a Careers Adviser & Coach.

The Role

Responsible to the Director of Student Services & Inclusion for the delivery of careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) to potential students, students, apprentices, HE & Adults. You will work with a wide range of customers, in schools, in the community and in college, to deliver high quality IAG on course and learning options, career decision making and employability skills.

The successful candidate will provide outstanding customer service and provide information, advice, and guidance to all students on career planning, further education, training and employment opportunities, supporting them in making informed decisions about their future.

Experience of working with young people in an educational setting and knowledge of careers education frameworks such as the Gatsby Benchmarks or Matrix Standard would be highly advantageous.

Main Duties for this role include

  • Support all learners, staff and customers who require Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance via a range of methods including face-to-face, telephone, email, 1:1 appointment, events, school and college events and group workshops.
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with students supporting with their career planning and exploration, providing them with guidance and resources to make informed decisions about their future educational and professional paths.
  • Deliver personalised careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) support via appointments and drop-in services, to customers at all stages of their learner journey.
  • Work as a team to deliver careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) at a range of college, school and community events, including but not limited to: Open Events, Career Events, Parents Evenings, and Interview Evenings.
