Job Title: Trainee Asset Inspection Technician
Location: Tipton
Salary: Up to £35,000 + benefits

About The Job
Due to an increase in workload we are now recruiting for a Asset Inspection Technician (PCA). This is a physically demanding role both working on site and in an office environment in a fast paced reactive department which services numerous clients throughout the country.
A good standard of education including and engineering qualification would be advantageous and a proactive and highly flexible approach to working. Some work will require flexible working hours to suit the needs of our clients which may include working and staying away from home for short periods.
Experience in pipe condition testing, ultra sonic technologies and drilling and tapping live water mains is desirable but due to the specialist nature of the work consideration would be given to an appropriate candidate who has experience in working within the water industry in a servicing or repair and maintenance capacity.
Asset condition assessment takes many forms and includes but is not limited to Ultrasonic, Forensic and Under Pressure Camera Surveys. There is also a degree of office based work including the compilation of reports for which an eye for detail and the ability to use various computer applications will be required. This is a challenging role that requires various skills and capabilities which for the right person training will be provided.
What You’ll Need
A full and current driving license.
Working towards or hold a HNC Engineering or Electrical qualification is advantageous.
Strong IT numeracy, literacy skills. Knowledge of utility sector pipe networks would be desirable.
Live within commutable distance to Tipton.
A good level of motivation to develop the necessary skills and attributes to be a successful technician.
