Position:

Reporting to the Group Repair Operations Manager, this exciting new role is responsible for reworking on electronic equipment, mainly telecom transmission products, soldering down do discrete components, assisting repair engineers in their job function and also keeping soldering equipment maintained.

Specific Responsibilities

  • The following outlines the primary areas of responsibility.
  • Additional responsibilities or functions may be required as necessary to support the business
  • Follow all companies Policies and Procedures including but not limited to Quality, Health and Safety, Environment and Information Security
  • The role is also expected to perform any reasonable requests which are not defined but in the ability of the individual
  • Solder down to discrete component level, through hole, SMD and BGA’s
  • Use various soldering equipment, soldering iron with adjustable temperature settings, electronic de-soldering hand piece, hot air equipment and infrared BGA station

Requirements:

  • A good understanding of soldering practices
  • Familiar with IPC-610-A standard
  • Good experience in working with through hole, SMD and BGA components including different packages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of workshop techniques and safety practices
  • Working with minimum supervision
  • Ability to adapt to customer deadlines
  • Enjoy a fast paced, a high-change environment and don’t rely on structure / hierarchy to get things done
  • Challenger mindset, always looking to drive improvement
