We currently have a vacancy for a Commercial Manager to join the UK Business Development Team. You will work with the Head of Contract Management to convert battery optimisation deals, negotiate bespoke contractual arrangements, and manage ongoing commercial relationships with our clients.
This exciting role will put you at the commercial heart of the UK business, provide a unique development opportunity and with significant responsibility from day one. The role will allow you to continually develop new skills and experiences as Habitat Energy grows and the markets we operate in evolve. You will drive the success of the UK business, helping build on our market-leading offering and grow our contracted optimisation portfolio beyond its current ~2 GW capacity. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to nurture and pursue new opportunities, including leading on new commercial negotiations.

You Will Be Responsible For
- Converting mid-to-late stage opportunities into closed deals, including developing, delivering and negotiating bespoke commercial proposals.
- Negotiating and contracting full-form commercial terms for new battery storage optimisation agreements, with support from the UK Head of Contract Management and internal and external legal counsel.
- Managing ongoing contractual relationships, including monitoring contractual performance, renewals and risk, while serving as a key coordinator between client needs and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting ongoing client growth and success, through the deepening of existing commercial relationships as a key member of Habitat’s client-facing team.
- Proven track record of nurturing and closing B2B deals
- Proven track record of navigating commercial and legal negotiations
- Proven track record of senior-level client engagement
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to understand and digest complex problems and design innovative and well-reasoned solutions
- Evidence of working collaboratively and effectively in teams
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative, and influence others with a positive and enthusiastic outlook
- A desire for continual learning and development
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data presentation
- 2 - 4 years work experience in a commercial/contracting role in energy
- Battery-specific contracting or optimisation experience
- Experience in spot/real-time flexibility markets
