We have an exciting opportunity for a Part Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Thameside name, a category B Prison located in London.
HMP Thameside is a male prison based in London with a capacity for 1232 inmates. We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Assistant for 3 days per week to support the Pharmacist and Technicians with labelling, checking, collections, placing order etc. The teams consists of around 15 including Senior Pharmacist, Technicians and Assistants.

Monday - Wednesday 0900 - 1700Salary
This position is Part Time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £29690 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Provide efficient, safe and legal pharmacy and medicines service to our patients.
- Be responsible for ordering and receiving medicines, as well as managing the correct storage conditions safe disposal and return, under the guidance of Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) you will support the supply, preparation and assembly of medicines and products under the direction of the pharmacy team.
- Deliver non-judgemental and patient centred care.
- You will make a real difference as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals supported through our bespoke Health in Justice Competency frameworks, policies and protocols, and always considering safeguarding.
- Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, our partners and stakeholders and providing a safe pharmacy and medicines service that people can trust and feel proud of. Promote best practice, patient centred care by upholding professionalism

- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
- Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach

- Good IT skills and IT literacy Ability to work within a busy environment
