Role Overview
To direct and manage the operational activities within the region of the client contract to ensure the cost effective and timely delivery of contractual obligations and service provisions, ensuring quality standards and H&S requirements are met and all EMCOR Group (UK)policies are complied with.

Role Overview
To direct and manage the operational activities within the region of the client contract to ensure the cost effective and timely delivery of contractual obligations and service provisions, ensuring quality standards and H&S requirements are met and all EMCOR Group (UK)policies are complied with.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Account Director in developing business plans, strategies and budgets, which deliver the strategic goals and financial targets of the client and EMCOR UK.
- Direct and manage the operational business streams in such a manner as to achieve the objectives and financial targets contained in the approved business plan and maximise the profits available to the Company.
- Ensure the operational business streams of EMCOR UK have suitable, qualified and experienced management teams in place at all times, within an appropriate reporting structure.
- Set objectives for managers within the operating core ensuring that they have the resources, authority, skills and abilities to effectively carry out their duties.
- Direct managers to motivate and develop staff and operatives, ensuring job appraisal and skills reviews are conducted to schedule and resulting in training and development needs are accurately identified and implemented.
- Ensure supporting functional departments develop and implement adequate management systems to properly monitor, report, review and control the operational activities of the business streams.
- Ensure that all operational activities of each of the business streams are conducted in accordance with common EMCOR UK policies, standards and procedures, in particular:-
- Compliance of Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment
- Financial Reporting standards
- Commercial and legislative
- Tender Approval and Adjudication
- Personnel
- Marketing
- Development of new business
- Work in collaboration with other functional heads and their respective teams in a cohesive and effective manner to support the management and development of the business.
- Actively promote the positive image of EMCOR UK at all times and maintain good working relationships with clients, suppliers and other external parties.
- Develop an organisational culture, which reflects the Company Core Values, that enables the Company to achieve or exceed its budget and business plans and promotes a positive employee relations climate. To promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Actively support and develop a strong customer care culture and programme throughout all levels of the Company.
- Provide to the Account Director a monthly report giving an executive overview of each business stream and any other significant issues affecting or likely to affect the performance of EMCOR UK.
Who You'll Be
- Proven and successful experience in an operational role at senior level, with full profit and loss responsibility gained within a Facilities Management Organisation.
- A thorough understanding of the customer’s drive and motive to outsource with exposure to soft and hard FM service markets.
- Comfortable operating at senior level with a proven ability to establish and develop business strategies that achieve short and long term financial and commercial targets.
- The ability to lead, direct and develop a strong team, gaining respect by action and example, having presence, gravitas and charisma, to stand out amongst others.
- An effective and progressive leader with experience of directing and developing multi disciplined teams across the UK wide geographical territories.
- A driver of people and projects with a very strong commercial awareness and a track record of achievement on difficult contracts and accounts.
- Ability and experience in developing strong relationships with key customers to support account development and long term sustainable and profitable tenure.
- A proven track record of managing suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent and a member of a relevant professional institute.
- Membership of BIFM and/or IFMA would be an advantage
- Experience of managing large scale contracts and accounts of £15m plus
- Experience and a good understanding of the law surrounding transfer of employees in the FM environment, TUPE
- Experience of working with a quality management system with a high degree of procedural compliance
- An MBA gained from a leading Business School
- A natural leader who has respect for people and the ability to bring the best out of them
- An obvious empathy with customers and clients, an ability to quickly grasp their needs and an ability to galvanise resources to satisfy clients demands
- Determination and resilience to achieve objectives and targets when faced with increasing operational difficulties. An ability to identify and drive through ‘win-win’ solutions when even under considerable or sustained pressure
- A self starter who is not afraid to challenge received wisdom and has the resilience to pursue legitimate business aims and objectives
- The energy and infectious enthusiasm to get things done
