Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Industrial

  • Technical expertise in Manufacturing Engineering, with a professional qualification (university degree) in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical). Additionally:
  • Fully competent in own field with specialist knowledge.
  • Able to work competently in other fields.
  • Acts as a guide and source of information to others.
  • Operates with minimum of supervision in a complex environment and regularly oversees the work of others.
  • Makes presentations at senior level, internally and externally demonstrating ability to clearly communicate to audience.
  • Identifies and anticipates technical problems and offers solutions.
  • Sets challenging goals by identifying possible ways to improve performance.
  • Ability to interpret data, events and looks for appropriate solutions.
  • Understands situations by analysing them logically and uses information in a systematic way, identifying appropriate course of action for resolution.
  • Fully appreciative of the limits of their experience.
  • Participates in activities within a global technical community and has an understanding of the interface with broader business functions within Aerospace client.
  • Competent, multispecialty member of the technical community, understanding the relationship of own field to others.
  • Applies knowledge and skills to a range of activities/
  • Understands the formal and informal structure of the business with an awareness of customer base.
  • Provides support to the organisation functions, showing commercial awareness at a business level.
  • Recognise the culture and climate within the organisation.
  • Creates project plans, budgets, organises people, directs and controls tasks.
  • Encouraging others to work co-operatively to achieve a common goal, leads knowledge management initiatives.
  • Explains complex concepts to a variety of audiences and ensures meaning is understood.
  • Creates formal networks with key decision makers internally and externally.
  • Uses the opportunity to develop their own coaching skills.
  • Able to provide support and development where appropriate.
  • Will be a major technical contributor internal to Aerospace.
  • Carries out Continuing Professional Development (CPD) necessary to ensure competence in areas identified and at the future professional level intended.
  • Develops new ideas and seeks supports for their development.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Detailed knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
  • Project/Program Management.
  • Familiarity with AS1945 APQP process or equivalent.
