About the role

You will lead the site Environmental & Sustainability programme, ensuring compliance against Legal, Local & Reckitt Environmental Standards. Identify and lead site initiatives to deliver E&S improvements to support the site delivery against the 2030 & 2040 Reckitt Global Sustainability Targets. You will develop a continuous improvement culture and understanding of E&S to help deliver improvements, through communication, training, workshops and establishing best practice. Demonstrating expertise and providing guidance for the site by staying up to date on legislation, identifying best practice opportunities from other organisations and external sources.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure the site remains compliant both legally & against Reckitt Global Environmental Standards on E&S. Where non-compliance is identified a remediation plan is identified, communicated and actioned.
  • Conduct self-assessments, audits and health checks periodically to identified any areas of risk or non-compliance which can be addressed prior to any internal or external audit.
  • Develop robust procedures and processes to ensure delivery of the site Environment Master Plan (EMS).
  • Prepare and lead E&S audits for the site.
  • Lead E&S improvement activities for the site. Improvement Plans, Workshops, Training, external supplier knowledge and resource where required. Linking the improvement activities to the Global 2030 & 2040 sustainability targets.
  • Update and monitor monthly E&S KPI’s and develop plans to address and improve any KPI’s which are off track.
  • Develop and support delivery of the site E&S training programme, which will deliver compliance, understanding, knowledge and wider impact on E&S delivery.

The experience we're looking for

  • Either Degree in Engineering or STEM subject (ideally with an environmental speciality) with 3-5 years experience in industry
  • Certified in IEMA Environmental Management or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience in a FMCG operation, preferably in a “high care” environment such as pharmaceutical, healthcare or food.
  • Knowledge and application of UK regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge and application of ISO14001, OHSAS18001 ISO9001 standards.
  • Will be achievement focussed and able to work in a direct and often pressurised environment displaying tenacity and resilience.
  • Must have good leadership qualities, be able to motivate others and demonstrate strong team working.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
