About the job:
The vacancy is for a working Team Leader of a dedicated and hardworking team who are responsible for managing all cleaning activities and directing cleaning colleagues, in the use of cleaning chemicals and techniques according to relevant manuals and specifications. Undertaking cleaning activities as necessary. Seeking out ways to improve standards and flexibility within the cleaning team. Assisting the Fleet Presentation Manager where required .
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships.
- Exchange of information to solve problems and participate in decision-making.
- To seek out ways to improve standards and flexibility within the cleaning team
- To comply with safety standards at all times
- Plan/Co-ordinate tasks with others working on the same unit / vehicle(s) or location.
- Ensure documentation of tasks is completed, (including use of IT systems where trained to do so).
- Develop processes, with others, teams, individuals and self to enhance performance, ensure that team performance is monitored and recorded and that appropriate corrective actions are taken where necessary.
- Workload Planning, monitoring, planning and control of all applicable resources, including material requests.
- Ensure materials are available by ordering material via the local process or advising the Materials team.
- Arrange for colleague accommodation, workplace and train cleaning as required.
You'll need to be:
- Able to demonstrate a proven track record in leading teams and working on your own initiative
- Able to complete tasks to a set standard and in accordance with specification/procedure to GWR standards
- Committed and able to encourage a team to deliver cleaning to the highest standard
- Enthusiastic and well organised in your approach towards work
- Willing to deliver training to colleagues and ensure documentation is kept up to date
As a minimum, you will need to have:
- Recognised Leadership Qualifications.
- An understanding of COSHH and Health and Safety at work
- Strong communication skills
- Experience of using Word, Excel & Microsoft Outlook
- Desire to want to learn new skills and develop
- NVQ level 1 or 2 Cleaning and Support Services or working towards this
- Previous experience in cleaning and/or support services
- Desire to want to learn new skills
About the location:
This post is based at Reading Train Care Depot
Working Pattern:
An average of 35hrs per week, you will be required to be flexible and work these hours
Additional Information:
Vacancies will be working permanent night shifts across a 7-day rota which will include weekends and Bank Holidays.
This campaign will also be used to create a reserve list for applicants to fill vacancies which may arise within the next six months.
