Job Description:

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Property Maintenance team as a Bricklayer, serving the City of Sunderland. This new role reflects our commitment to growth and delivering outstanding service to our valued customers.

In this role, you will work closely with the maintenance team to effectively carry out all responsive brick works including general bricklaying, brickwork repairs, pointing, paving and preservation work to our customer homes across the city. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and satisfaction of our customers.

This position offers a standard 36-hour working week, with flexibility to accommodate occasional overtime as needed to support the business. A full UK driver’s licence is required for this position.

The role is subject to a basic DBS paid for by Gentoo.

Key responsibilities will include:

To work as part of team to carry out all installations, repairs and maintenance work required and all other bricklayer related duties including general bricklaying, brickwork repairs, cavity cleans, installing cavity trays, pointing, paving, concrete work & preservation work in both customers and empty homes.

To ensure appropriate parts and materials are available to complete jobs in a timely manner whilst ensuring effective management of your van-based stock.

Provide excellent customer service by fostering clear communication and a respectful attitude toward customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Carry out all works to the relevant legal, obligatory and Gentoo Group standards.

What we are looking for:

A full UK driver's license.

Served a recognised craft apprenticeship in Bricklaying or City & Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate or NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying.

The ability to work at height and in external environments.

Effective communication and customer care skills.

A flexible approach to meet the demands of the role.

Competence in the use of handheld IT systems.

Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety regulations.

Openness for continual learning and developing skills in order to carry out duties and responsibilities.
