Salary: Up to £35,000
Location: Swansea (primarily office-based, with the option to work remotely up to 3 days a week for document-focused tasks)

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-focused engineer to join a development team, ensuring the quality of components for both new and existing products. This role is central to managing the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and working across teams, especially with Operations and Quality, to resolve issues and improve supplier performance.

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-focused engineer to join a development team, ensuring the quality of components for both new and existing products. This role is central to managing the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and working across teams, especially with Operations and Quality, to resolve issues and improve supplier performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all stages of the PPAP process to ensure parts meet production standards.
- Review and approve PPAP submissions, change requests, and audit results.
- Carry out supplier audits and assess manufacturing readiness.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation; help develop inspection standards and reports.
- Measure samples, manage master references, and track tool usage at suppliers.
- Support pre-production builds and line trials; help improve the PPAP process.
- Investigate and resolve quality concerns with suppliers before production.
- Drive ongoing improvements in component quality and supplier processes.
- Assist with root cause analysis and handling of non-conforming parts.
- Keep PPAP documentation current and compliant with audit requirements.
- Ensure timely approvals and adherence to quality standards.
- Familiarity with PPAP documentation (e.g. control plans, DFMEA/PFMEA, SPC, ISIR)
- Experience writing technical reports
- Involvement in line trials
- Strong communication and attention to detail
- Background in New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Degree in Engineering or related field, or 5+ years’ relevant experience/apprenticeship
