We are pleased to announce a new exciting opportunity to join our Property Safety team for a Multi Maintenance Operative (Fire Door Maintenance Operative) working across the City of Sunderland. This new role reflects our commitment to growth and delivering outstanding service to our valued customers.
In this role, you will work closely with the Property Safety team to effectively assist and support colleagues in the wider delivery of a repairs and maintenance service, you will complete all associated works to fire doors including inspections, maintenance, repairs, hardware changes and upkeep. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and satisfaction of our customers.
This position offers a standard 36-hour working week, with flexibility to accommodate occasional overtime as needed to support the business. A full UK driver’s licence is required for this position.
The role is subject to a basic DBS paid for by Gentoo.
Key responsibilities will include:
Provide excellent customer service by fostering clear communication and a respectful attitude toward customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Complete annual and quarterly fire door inspections across the groups housing stock (Fire door knowledge specific training provided)
Carry out general multi-maintenance door repairs to occupied, void properties and communal areas.
Carry out works to the relevant legal, obligatory and Gentoo Group standards efficiently and on time.
Regularly update the Maintenance Manager regarding the status of all work.
Liaise and interface with other trades as required.
Complete of all necessary documents related to the position
Essential:
A full UK driver’s license.
Demonstrable experience of carrying out various minor building repairs across designated trade disciplines.
Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety regulations
Competence in the use of handheld IT systems.
Developed communication skills with customers, colleagues, and wider teams to deliver an exceptional service to every customer.
Openness for continual learning and developing skills in order to carry out duties and responsibilities.
Desirable:
Experience of carrying out general multi-maintenance repairs to include repairs to timber and UPVC doors/windows & fire doors (full training on current fire door inspection and maintenance regulations provided)
Joinery NVQ Level 2
Experience of the installation of timber doors, UPVC doors and windows
