The Business Support Team within Children’s Social Care have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced finance/business support assistant. We are offering a fixed term (12 months), 18.5 Hour, part time Business Support Officer role with an opportunity to assist our Family Network Team to deliver a first-class service to the professionals, children, young people and families we support daily.
The role
What will you be doing?
Providing a professional, high-quality business support service within the Business Support team. This will include support for of a range of different processes and following a variety of procedures but in particular, the role will provide specific resourcing support to our Family Time Team. We need you to provide an excellent support service to all the professionals, carers and families involved in Family Time visits. Family Time is a really important time for our Children in Care, it's where they get to meet up with birth parents, grandparents and/or siblings. It's a time that is very precious to all involved and so it needs to be managed sensitively and professionally. Sometimes emergencies happen and meetings may need to be changed, moved or cancelled if all else fails. Your role will be to help our Family Network Managers, book rooms, arrange rotas, find cover for colleagues on leave, contact Foster Carers to arrange family time or perhaps to call parents to re-arrange a session.
There may also be work supporting the team to arrange other meetings, access petty cash, make expense claims amongst other things. You will work as a key part of the team, using initiative and problem-solving to support the service to achieve its objectives. You will be part of a small team of similar post-holders but also part of a wider team with other duties that you may have opportunity to be involved in, should you wish to grow and develop your knowledge and skills. Mon: 4 Hours - 8:30am - 12:30pm
Tue: 3.5 Hours - 8:30am - 12:00pm
Weds: 3.5 Hours - 8:30am - 12:00pm
Thu: 3.5 Hours - 8:30am - 12:00pm
Fri: 4 Hours - 8:30am - 12:30pm
Total = 18.5 Hours per week

- Good IT skills with experience in a range of software
- Experience of data-inputting
- Experience of scheduling
- Experience of call-handling
- Excellent team-working skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise and organise workload despite interruptions
- Excellent communication skills with a confidence to communicate with colleagues and partners at all levels
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Good decision-making skills
- Flexible and able to work under pressure
