Product Owner - Consumer Insights and Retention

Dr. Martens is a globally recognisable and culturally influential British brand, with 65 years of rich heritage, rooted in craftsmanship. As brand custodians, we work for a dynamic, thriving, and ethical business, with people from diverse backgrounds, where anyone can grow their career.

We are guided by three core values: be yourself, act courageously, and show you care. They inspire us to push boundaries, embrace individuality, and stand up for what's right.

The Gig

As the Product Owner, you will define the strategy and prioritize initiatives, serving as the bridge between Technology and the Digital Marketing and Customer teams. We seek a customer-centric individual with a robust background in digital marketing and brand strategy, understanding of our business requirements and best practices.

In this role, you will be the authority on product within your team: setting priorities, making product-related decisions, and ensuring stakeholder engagement. Collaborating closely with our Capability and Delivery Leads, you will manage updates and escalate any issues to ensure delivery of substantial business value.

Responsibilities

  • Defining and communicating the teams’ goals, objectives and KPIs, and regularly reviewing and sharing progress against them.
  • Owning the backlog and prioritization based on criticality and business benefit.
  • Deciding and agreeing with the Delivery Lead when and how solutions will be deployed, liaising with regional stakeholders, and ensuring business functions are always considered.
  • Ensuring the consumer (internal and external) is considered at every point and is fully aware of the commercial calendar and key events.
  • Setting and influencing expectations with stakeholders for the delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
  • Participating in team planning, reviews and demos, retrospectives, and all other ceremonies, helping to drive delivery at pace.

The Stuff That Sets You Apart

  • Extensive experience in digital marketing, preferably within luxury or high street brands.
  • Strong understanding of Martech tools/platforms and the ability to extract value from them.
  • A curiosity for innovation, ideas and opportunities within the consumer and marketing space.
  • Proven ability to read and digest data and utilise it to understand our customer to formulate opportunity areas.
  • Strong functional and analytical skills with the ability to impact business outcomes, driving the technology organisation as an enabler of the company’s strategic initiatives.
