Our Role

Forming an integral part of the People Partnership Team, this role will be responsible for providing generalist HR support and advice in all aspects of people management to The White Company Stores and business partners. The role will be responsible for building strong business relationships and driving ‘People Partnership’ across Retail, partnering with Area Managers to influence better people-focussed business decisions. The role will primarily support our Retail stores, with advisory duties in supporting Retail, Head Office, and the Contact Centre colleagues from time to time, and the opportunity to work on specific projects within the wider People Team.

Please be aware this role is a 4-month FTC to cover maternity leave

What you’ll be doing

People Partnership

  • Act as a first point of contact providing generalist HR support to Store Managers and Area Managers, advising on all elements of people management
  • Build sustainable, strong business relationships with key stakeholders across the Retail estate
  • Provide a swift and responsive HR service to managers and employees on a wide range of queries
  • Building a strong relationship with all other People Advisors to ensure advice given is consistent across the team
  • Support the Retail ‘People Plan’, aligned to delivering the department strategy
  • Present relevant and timely updates to the People Partnership Manager and to your key business partners
  • Coach and train business partners to ensure they are equipped to manage their teams in the best possible way and in line with TWC values and culture
  • Understanding our brand and interpret it to run through every piece of people management material
  • Create and maintain a partnership with the L&D, Talent Acquisition, Comms & Engagement and Pay & Reward teams to ensure all people centric initiatives are joined up and considered

Insight

  • Support the People Partnership Manager in the creation of people analytics that tell a story and are aligned to the people strategy
  • Based on the analytics, facilitate meaningful and impactful conversations with business partners to guide better business and people-focused decisions
  • Use relevant metrics and data to develop insight and support and influence People Team strategy and initiatives
  • Ensure all department trackers and reporting mechanisms are kept up to date

Employee Relations

  • Work with Store Managers and Area Managers in providing a solutions focussed service in dealing with all employee relations issues
  • Support Retail in all aspects of Talent management, including managing underperformance as well as identifying high performance
  • Staying abreast of any changes to employment law, ensuring our policies, procedures and usual practice remain legally compliant
  • Ensuring that our policies and procedures are interpreted fairly, reasonably and consistently by managers across all teams
  • Supporting and advising within ER investigations
  • Supporting all flexible working applications

Reward

  • Work with business partners to guide and advise on all remuneration submissions
  • Support annual reward processes such as pay review and bonus payments
  • Support with salary benchmarking to ensure TWC salaries are in line with reward strategy and ideal market positioning

Organisation Design

  • Supporting any proposed structural changes – working with the manager to build the proposal, working through the plan and supporting delivery of the change
  • Support senior colleagues in organisational design projects while advising business partners on organisational design queries
  • Support business partners with evaluating ways of working across the business
