About the Role:
CRU is looking for a motivated and analytical intern to join its Consulting division. In this role, you will support the delivery of client projects by assisting the consulting team in generating strategic insights and high-quality solutions tailored to our clients’ business challenges. Working closely with experienced consultants, you will carry out research, conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis, identify key trends and insights, and develop reports, presentations, and other client-facing deliverables. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced consulting environment with exposure to commodities markets and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
You will support the successful delivery of client engagements and internal initiatives across the consulting division. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting background research and collecting data using internal CRU databases and external resources.
- Performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis using Excel or other analytical tools to uncover key trends and insights.
- Drafting clear, structured written outputs that summarize key findings, insights, and implications in a client-friendly format.
- Supporting in the preparation of high-quality deliverables for CRU clients which can include written reports, PowerPoint presentations, models in Excel, and attendance of client meetings where appropriate.
- Participating in team discussions, contributing ideas, and assisting with task coordination under the guidance of senior team members.
- Taking ownership of assigned tasks and managing time effectively to meet internal and client-facing deadlines.
Essential Criteria
Qualification: Recent graduates or candidates currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline (mining, geology, material sciences, engineering, economics, sustainability, business, etc.)
- Genuine interest in commodities markets.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in research and deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to construct a concise, clear, and cohesive narrative to explain insights.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data, identify trends, and generate insights.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent IT skills including the use of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Willingness to adapt to changing business requirements.
