What you’ll be doing:
- In the ECO Officer position, you will work closely with the Contract ECO Manager and another ECO Officer to develop and deliver recycling improvement and community engagement projects. You will be responsible for the budget, timeline, and quality of their delivery, and will also deliver educational sessions to schools and tours of our Southwark Recycling facility.
- You will identify good news stories and campaign ideas and collaborate with the regional digital and PR team to achieve regional and contract objectives. You will keep abreast of industry developments, building strong relationships at all levels across the contract, and deliver internal communications campaigns to improve our safety performance and working culture.
- The role is engagement focused, making it best suited to someone who is keen to work within the City of Westminster and at our offices near Victoria.
This is an excellent time to join the contract, as we expand the team to deliver on Westminster’s carbon net-zero targets.
What we are looking for:
- Experience delivering behaviour change and/or community engagement techniques
- Experience in project and event development and delivery
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Experience building strong stakeholder relationships
- Ability to identify and develop good news stories
- A flexible and proactive approach prioritizing client and service user needs
- Knowledge of the recycling and waste industry
- Experience working with local authorities
- Ability to develop creative visual content
- Advanced understanding of data management and analysis
- Understanding of PR, social media, and digital communications
