This is a fantastic opportunity to join the finance team, business partnering our GCS business (Global, Corporate and Specialty) within UKGI (General Insurance) Commercial Lines. It’s an exciting time to join with a significant growth and transformation journey ahead.

A bit about the job:

The main focus of the team and role is to provide financial support and robust challenge in equal measure to the GCS business. You will work closely with the business to drive performance and growth, this includes:

  • Acting as the primary Finance point of contract for certain lines of business, covering all financial matters in these areas.
  • Financial and business planning and forecasting, directly involved in the shaping of business strategy with our GCS teams.
  • Drive performance management of the GCS business including decision support on deals, transformation and strategy and proactive analysis to identify opportunity and support plan delivery.
  • Supporting the GI finance transformation programme to enable to make the finance function best in class, highly efficient and focused on value add.
  • Representation of GCS Finance at key meetings (such as quarterly deep dives, planning sessions, Senior Leadership monthly meetings, valuation meetings, etc).

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Strong financial understanding of General Insurance P&L accounts and reporting measures.
  • Background of commercially focused finance roles, with FP&A and business partnering experience preferred.
  • Commercial foresight and understanding of the Insurance business - a strong familiarity with London Market/Corporate & specialty sector is essential.
  • A relevant accounting qualification e.g., CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of modelling and analytical tools.
