Care Assistant required to support a young girl with tracheostomy and complex health needs in Plymouth. Night shifts available 20:00-08:00 Monday to Sunday.
Ocean Healthcare is looking for an experienced Care Assistant to provide 1:1 care for a young, non-mobile girl with complex health needs in Plymouth. She is quadriplegic and requires full support with personal care, mobility, and care needs. She has a tracheostomy and uses a ventilator. You'll support her with suctioning, tube feeding, catheter, and bowel care.
She has limited verbal communication due to her tracheostomy but has a clear voice and is able to make decisions.
Shift Details:
- 20:00-08:00 Monday to Sunday
Note: Ideally, you'll be able to commit to 3-4 shifts per week to provide consistency of care, but we’re happy to discuss your availability. Please get in touch to discuss further.
Pay Rates:
- £14.80 p/hr Monday-Thursday
- £15.05 p/hr Friday
- £17.05 p/hr Saturday-Sunday
- £20.05 p/hr Bank Holidays

What We’re Looking For
- An experienced Care Assistant who has worked with children
- Experience with tracheostomy care is highly desired, but not essential
The ideal candidate will be confident, experienced with working with children, and be competent with manual handling. While experience with ventilation, tracheostomy care, and suctioning would be very helpful, it’s not essential as full training and support will be provided.
What You'll Need
- Good References (covering at least 3 years)
- You must be a car driver
- Reliability and good communication
- Right to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa)
While there are lots of work opportunities within Ocean Healthcare, the terms in this job advert are specific ONLY to this package of care. Permanent and bank contracts available. You can work full or part-time.
