Job Description
We are looking for a Banking Officer to join our Retail Finance team. In this role you will be accountable for the accurate operation of retail bank accounts through reconciliation. You will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day duties of the Cash Management team and supporting operational business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Weekly and Monthly Cash and Bank Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
- Complete weekly and monthly cash and bank balance sheet reconciliations, accurately and on a timely basis.
- Ensuring reconciling items are identified and actioned promptly. Highlight risks and opportunities to the Senior Banking Officer (SBO).
- Provide assistance with reconciliations as required or requested by the SBO.
- Manage daily operational issues, including communication and resolution with external third parties.
- Aid various managers with the identification, communication, and resolution of issues.
- Support the security and audit department as needed.
- Process Delivery:
- Execute the following processes, escalating issues to the SBO:
- Payment and cashbook processing.
- Liaison with authorisers to ensure timely completion of payments across the business.
- Completion of the daily cash calculation.
- Attend meetings upon SBO request, providing feedback and updates on relevant documentation.
- Other Duties:
- Perform other tasks as required by the Senior Banking Officer.
- Support the STS daily workload as required.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Reconciliation experience, including high-volume or automated reconciliations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Practical systems and IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
Desirable:
- Cash management experience.
- Awareness of general banking processes and terminology.
- Experience using automated reconciliation software.
