The Department of Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology seeks to appoint to a fixed term Lecturer post (10 months) with subject expertise in critical criminology to join our department at the University of Liverpool. This Teaching & Scholarship post is open to individuals who share our commitment to a positive student experience at the University of Liverpool, underpinned by engaging and innovative teaching methods.

Applicants must be able to make a contribution to teaching in criminology and mentoring more broadly across social policy, sociology and social research methods. Subject expertise in race and social justice or quantitative methods are particularly welcome. SSPC is committed to innovative teaching and learning strategies which enable students to benefit from both traditional and modern approaches and technologies. The ideal candidate will also be willing to undertake research supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The Department is committed to nurturing and supporting research and pedagogical leadership, and candidates will be encouraged to play a central role in departmental life.

You should have a PhD in sociology, sociology policy, criminology, criminal justice or a cognate discipline (completed or submitted and awaiting viva), and evidence of training in relevant research methods (qualitative and/or quantitative).

This role is eligible for sponsorship under the skilled worker route.
