This role focuses on indirect tax technology implementation, maintenance and optimization, with emphasis on tax engine and tax compliance software. The position supports tax technology for the International Region by identifying and implementing new technology and/or process improvements to drive compliance and savings along with ensuring tax team members are properly trained.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Tax Engine and Tax Compliance implementations, maintenance and documentation of the indirect tax automation and reporting process tools (Vertex O, VITR, SAF-T, Real Time Reporting, e-invoicing)
- Support ERP integrations, particularly with Oracle R12, including requirements gathering, solution design, and fit-gap analysis
- Develop and manage testing scenarios, ensuring comprehensive tax coverage for system implementations
- Assess, document, and improve processes and data flows
- Drive data analytics tools (Power BI) to increase efficiency for tax activities
- Design and implement Alteryx workflows to streamline tax processes and improve analytics capabilities.
- Maintain production tax systems, including troubleshooting tax issues and implementing system updates (Oracle R12 EBTax)
- Troubleshoot indirect tax issues, including but not limited to Hypercare support for Tax Engine implementations, compliance issues and e-invoicing issues
- Identify potential process improvements and recommend implementation strategies
- Deploy and support tax compliance solutions including e-invoicing and real-time reporting requirements
- Develop and demonstrate expertise in tax related software including building and offering training
- Serve as a liaison between Tax, Finance, and IT to support various tax technology projects
- Prioritize and assist with documenting, sharing, and testing overlapping tax system requirements
- Other tax projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent) are a plus but not required
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax technology, with a strong emphasis on indirect tax systems (VAT/GST)
- Proven experience with tax engine implementation and maintenance (e.g., Vertex O, VITR)
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle R12, including EBTax configuration and integration
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of indirect tax compliance and reporting requirements across international jurisdictions
- Experience working with data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI
- Proficiency in building and optimizing workflows using Alteryx or similar tools
- Familiarity with electronic invoicing, SAF-T, and real-time reporting solutions
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain production tax systems and resolve tax-related system issues

- Prior involvement in global or regional tax technology transformation projects
- Experience with cross-functional system implementations and testing
- Exposure to working in a multinational or matrixed environment
