About the job:

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive professional to join our Construction & Infrastructure coverage team as an Associate Lead, based in London.

The role will support the strategic development of our infrastructure business, which includes core infrastructure as well as related verticals such as Real Estate and Basic Materials (Chemicals, Packaging, Metals & Mining).

This position combines strong sector knowledge with product understanding, playing a key role in business development, sector intelligence generation, and strategic client interaction across geographies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain in-depth sector views across infrastructure and adjacent verticals, identifying trends, opportunities, and key players to support strategic decision-making and origination efforts.
  • Generate industry and peer analysis to support client pitches and strategic initiatives, leveraging both internal and external data sources.
  • Actively contribute to business development efforts and the preparation of commercial presentations and proposals.
  • Support the monitoring and execution of the strategic plan, drawing relevant conclusions and identifying corrective actions when necessary.
  • Assist in tracking commercial performance and alignment with business goals, especially in relation to BBVA's sustainable finance strategy.
  • Conceptualize and help implement governance and operational models, including process optimization and functional alignment.

Qualifications:

  • We are seeking a high-potential candidate with a strong analytical mindset, the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights, and a collaborative approach to working across multi-functional teams.
  • 5–10 years of experience in Corporate & Investment Banking, strategy consulting, or related roles within infrastructure or adjacent sectors.
  • Knowledge of financial products and their applications in the infrastructure space.
  • Strong sector interest or prior exposure to Infrastructure, Real Estate, and/or Basic Materials (Chemicals, Packaging, Metals & Mining).
  • Proven ability to prepare and deliver insightful presentations and documentation for senior stakeholders and client engagements.
  • Experience in sustainability, energy transition, or ESG-related projects will be highly valued.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and synthesis skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and support decision-making processes.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Slides, Sheets, Docs).
