The Division of Cardiovascular Sciences within the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at the University of Manchester wishes to appoint a laboratory-based Research Associate to an exciting project exploring novel treatments for Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia (CPVT) and factors that determine the clinical penetrance of CPVT.

During this position, the post-holder will undertake a range of activities including:

  • In vivo studies using mouse models of CPVT
  • In vitro studies on tissue slices and single cells isolated from hearts expressing mutations that cause CPVT
  • In vitro studies on cardiomyocytes differentiated from stem cells derived from patients with CPVT
