Job Title: Contract Support Officer (PFI Schools) Area Lancashire
This role is within Lancashire County Council, dedicated to making Lancashire a great place to live, work, and prosper. We are the fourth largest local authority in England, serving the educational needs of over 170,000 children across 628 schools. Role & Responsibilities
The Property Service manages the property portfolio of Lancashire County Council, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities. The successful candidate will assist in financial management related to PFI contracts.
The 'Building Schools for the Future' initiative aimed to revamp the school infrastructure in the UK through private finance initiatives. Currently, we manage 16 schools under these contracts in Lancashire.
- Financial management of PFI contracts, contributing to overall contract management.
- Monitor and process invoices, raise purchase orders, and ensure accuracy in the finance system.
- Ensure prompt payments to third parties per PFI Contract terms.
- Prepare, track, and reconcile ledgers and budgets, addressing discrepancies.
- Support PFI contract management and service outcome goals.
- Perform contract performance analysis against contractual obligations.
- Assist with risk management and performance measurement adhering to statutory requirements.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in financial roles, local authorities, schools, or academies.
- Experience with multiple stakeholders, internal and external.
- Understanding of IT systems, especially finance systems.
- Experience arranging and minuting meetings.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills to meet contractual deadlines.
- Initiative for continuous improvement in your area.
