Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Brake Press Setter and Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC-controlled brake presses to form and bend metal sheet materials, ensuring high-quality output while adhering to safety standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up CNC Brake Press: Prepare, adjust, and load tools, dies, and workpieces on the CNC brake press machines according to work orders and drawings.
  • Machine Operation: Operate CNC-controlled brake presses to bend, fold, and form metal components with precision according to specifications.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and other documentation to determine the exact specifications and material requirements for the job.
  • Quality Control: Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet required specifications and tolerances. Make adjustments as needed to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the brake press machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine malfunctions or production issues quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production, machine settings, and quality checks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other operators, engineers, and supervisors to optimize production processes and solve operational challenges.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Proven experience operating CNC brake presses, with a solid understanding of CNC programming and machine setup.

Skills

  • Proficient in reading drawings, technical documentation, and schematics.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to check part quality.
  • Strong understanding of material properties, especially metals like steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

Education

  • Technical certification in CNC machine operation or a related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials as required.

Attention To Detail

  • Strong focus on precision and high-quality standards.

Problem-Solving

  • Able to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the manufacturing or metalworking industry.
  • Familiarity with Amada machine models and software.
  • Ability to operate other machinery in a manufacturing environment (e.g., lasers, Mills, etc.).

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing floor with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Occasional overtime may be required depending on project deadlines and production schedules.
