About The Role

We currently require a Fettler to work on castings to achieve the quality standard required by both Paralloy Group and the Customers.

Responsibilities & Duties

• To fettle/excavate castings to the quality standard required by customer and Paralloy quality procedures.
• To be as cost effective and efficient as possible.
• To work to Paralloy health & safety work rules.
• To adhere to Paralloy contract of employment.
• To be able to use both hi cycles and air grinding tools; training will be given if no experience in this field.
• To fettle castings to profile and excavate casting defects in preparation for welding.
• To remove any defects and fettle to profile.
• To work safely within the workplace.
• To be competent in driving overhead cranes; training will be given to the right candidate if required.
• To work closely with other members of fettling/welding/inspection teams.
• To work to provided production plans laid out by management.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Previous fettling experience.
• Manual handling experience.
• Abrasive wheel experience.
• Slinging experience.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement.
• Basic understanding of quality issues.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety within the workplace.
