Job Summary

Joining the Operations Team within the PMO department, the Junior Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple small client-facing onboarding projects. These projects typically involve onboarding Service Providers or Resellers onto Akixi’s software, requiring close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Technical, and Finance teams. This role provides an excellent opportunity to complete a Level 4 Associate Project Management Apprenticeship while working cross-functionally across the business and gain exposure to different departments. In addition to managing onboarding projects, the Junior Project Manager will assist the Senior Manager, PMO on larger strategic initiatives and provide coverage for other Operations team members when needed. This means supporting customer order processing, cancellations, and overseeing key subprocesses within onboarding projects or release management processes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their project management expertise, gain hands-on experience in customer onboarding, and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.


The apprenticeship programme will last 14-18 months with a view to securing a permanent role with Akixi upon successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Customer Onboarding

  • Manage multiple small-scale customer onboarding projects
  • Develop detailed project plans to guide partners and internal teams
  • Identify and assign project tasks based on team members’ skills, experience, and availability.
  • Schedule, lead and participate in project meetings with internal stakeholders and partners to gather project requirements and define delivery timelines.
  • Monitor project performance to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Compile and provide regular project updates to clients, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Work effectively with relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient project implementation.
  • Identify areas for business improvement within the onboarding process.


Support for Larger Projects

  • Assist the Senior Manager, PMO in planning, executing, and tracking cross-functional projects.
  • Contribute to updating policies and processes as required.
  • Support the efficient management of resources and time to maximize project success.
  • Identify and solve project-related issues proactively.


Onboarding Coordinator/ Release Manager Coverage

  • Provide backup support for the Onboarding Coordinator, including processing customer orders, cancellations, and related administrative tasks.
  • Oversee key subprocesses of onboarding projects to ensure seamless execution when the Onboarding Coordinator is unavailable.
  • Provide backup support for the Associate Manager of Releases, such as booking software updates with Partners and ensuring the release management process/ projects remain on track


Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance the onboarding experience.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with internal teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
  • Continuously enhance leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders.


Skills and Experience – Essential

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience – Desirable

  • Degree-level education Business, Project Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Monday.com, Outlook, and other relevant project management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions to drive project success.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in process improvement
  • Experience in a SaaS, technology, or service-based industry
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
