As a RF Team Leader you will have responsibility for the management of the RF Electronics Development Team as well as contributing to development projects as a RF Design Engineer. The right candidate will have a proven track record of RF electronics design, experience of leadership and/or mentoring a technical team, enjoy problem solving and be an excellent communicator.

Your Role
Your Main Responsibilities Can Include
- Managing a team of RF design engineers, including:
- Management of resource allocations against agreed priorities
- Technical leadership within the RF discipline
- Ensuring appropriate guidance to the ones mentoring of junior team members
- Performance management and personal development reviews
- Reinforcing process and setting standards
- Technical design and specification of baseband circuitry for radio terminal products:
- Complete subsystem design and implementation
- Integration with Baseband, Audio and MMI subsystems
- Component specification and sourcing
- Design test documentation
- Schematic creation and PCB layout supervision
- Technical requirements analysis
- Resolutions of design and integration issues
- Type approval support
- Technical support to end customers
- Regular reporting to senior stakeholders

Technical Engineering Activities You Will Be Responsible For Include
- Regular meetings to review projects progress, set priorities, and address challenges.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure RF systems meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with baseband, software, and audio teams to integrate RF solutions into broader projects.
- Assist mentors providing guidance and support on technical issues.
- Engage in project management activities, such as updating project timelines, managing resources, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in RF design and development, preferably in the telecommunications or critical communications industry.
- In-depth knowledge of RF systems and technologies, including design, simulation, and testing.
- Proven leadership experience, managing and mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in at least 3 (three) of the following items:
- RF Tx/Rx Architectures
- RF Receivers
- RF Transmitters
- RF Power Amplifiers
- EMC/EMI
- Frequency Generators
- Antenna design
- Broadband communications
- LTE/4G/5G
- Simulation tools and modelling such as ADS and/or CST
- Testing procedures, protocols and facilities such as anechoic chambers and screening rooms
- TETRA - 100-900 MHz
- GSM - 800/900/1800 MHz
- LTE/4G/5G - 700-2700 MHz
- GNSS - 1.6-2 GHz
- WiFi - 2.4-6GHz
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively leading a team and collaborating with other departments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience with professional mobile radio (PMR) systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance in the telecommunications industry.
- Knowledge of advanced RF technologies, such as beamforming or MIMO.
- Proficiency in additional programming languages relevant to RF design and testing.
