Medical Laboratory Assistant | Pathology | Band 3 equivalent | Full time | Permanent

Spire Southampton has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Lab Assistant to join the Pathology department. Experience with Winpath or similar Pathology LIMS, and/or Biochemistry analyser maintenance would be an advantage.

Spire Pathology Services is one of the UK’s largest networks of accredited laboratories. In 2015, our 22 specialist laboratories and 200 staff carried out more than two million tests from a simple full blood count to a complex tumour marker. We deliver to agreed service levels including one-hour turnaround times on specific tests where requested.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • You will be part of an experienced and supportive pathology team working within a state-of-the-art lab
  • You will primarily be responsible for the receipt and processing of samples for our Biomedical Science Laboratory. This will include a high volume of sample handling through to packaging and ensuring they are sent to the correct department

Who We're Looking For

  • You will need to have strong administration skills and good computer literacy
  • Someone who is motivated and excels in customer service
  • We would also be open to someone with relevant science qualifications looking for their first opportunity in a Scientific role
  • Experience with Winpath or similar Pathology LIMS, and/or Biochemistry maintenance would be an advantage

Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5hrs per week. Service hours 08:00-20:00 weekdays and some Saturdays 08.00-16.00
