The role

We are recruiting for an experienced IT Quality Assurance Analyst to join our in-house IT Quality Assurance team. The team is part of the Technology department within the wider Business Services function.


This individual will report to and work closely with the IT Quality Assurance Manager to plan and execute testing for both BAU changes and IT projects, ensuring effective governance across both areas. The role involves ensuring that any software or hardware deployed to the firm's IT estate meets the expected quality standards.


The successful candidate will support the IT QA function, creating test plans and test cases to validate deliverables in line with defined requirements, executing test cases, reporting results, and managing defects through to resolution. A strong understanding of software testing standards and techniques is essential, along with an extensive background in both test management and manual test execution.


The team

The IT Quality Assurance Team is a vital part of the Technology department, ensuring that all IT changes and projects meet the highest quality standards before deployment. The team collaborates closely with business analysts, system analysts, project managers, and external vendors, working in a structured yet dynamic environment.


With a strong focus on continuous improvement and best practices, the team plays a key role in maintaining system reliability and enhancing the firm's overall technology landscape. Duties and Responsibilities

The IT Quality Assurance Analyst will collaborate closely with the IT QA team and business stakeholders throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), executing test iterations, tracking and reporting results, troubleshooting, and coordinating defect resolution.

The individual should have a strong understanding of SDLC processes, ISO Standards, and the QA lifecycle and methodology, contributing to the continuous improvement of best testing practices and systems.

  • Test management of IT projects and BAU changes, often in parallel.
  • Reporting on test progress throughout the SDLC.
  • Creation and execution of test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts based on identified requirements.
  • Advising on modern testing technologies for continuous improvement.
  • Working with third parties and vendors to ensure testing meets defined test criteria.
  • Reviewing requirements and specifications to plan and execute test scenarios verifying expected behaviours.
  • Managing defects through to resolution within the defined defect lifecycle.
  • Gaining expertise in business applications and IT products to ensure a measured approach to quality assurance.
  • Contributing to QA activities, including process improvements, automation, change control, release reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.


Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Minimum 6 years' experience in software testing, including some experience as a Test Manager or Test Lead, demonstrating the ability to define test plans.
  • Experience in static testing and knowledge of when best to apply different techniques.
  • Experience in various application lifecycle methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative Development.
  • Functional and non-functional manual testing experience across software, hardware, and infrastructure implementations.
  • ISEB / ISTQB Foundation-level certification required, with Advanced Analyst certification preferred.
  • Experience in the legal sector and familiarity with applications such as, Aderant, Intapp, BigHand is beneficial.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside normal working hours/days when required.
